⚠️ Go gently with this one. See the note below.
Some relationships end and you grieve them. Others end and you have to be reintroduced to yourself, because somewhere along the way you quietly went missing.
If that sounds familiar, you probably also know the loop — the part of you that’s certain, the part that keeps making the case for them, and the way those two argue with each other at three in the morning.
Before you begin, one thing said plainly: there is nothing wrong with you for having stayed as long as you did. People don’t stay because they’re weak. They stay because the good parts were real, because leaving costs more than it looks like from outside, and because when something erodes you slowly enough, you lose your reference point for what normal feels like. That isn’t a character flaw. That’s how it works.
These questions don’t ask you to hate anyone. They don’t require you to have made a decision, and they won’t push you into one. They only ask you to tell the truth.
Where it takes you:
You’ll leave with: yourself, back.
Please read: this journal goes deep. Take breaks. If what comes up is more than you can hold on your own, put it down and call someone who can sit with you — a friend, or a qualified professional. Doing this alone is not a virtue.
